About the event

What can I expect?

In this interactive and practical workshop, participants will look at the three elements of early literacy (oral language, early phonemic awareness and  print knowledge and preparing to write) and ways to engage Tamariki with these important skills.

What are the learning outcomes?

  • Understand the elements of early literacy and what these look like in an early childhood setting
  • How to plan for early literacy practices in a Tamariki lead learning setting
  • How to observe and notice early literacy progress and how to plan for next steps
  • Unpacking the oral language and literacy resources of Kōwhiti Whakapae

Early Childhood Kaiako, team leaders and centre managers

Who is the workshop facilitator?

Del works with leaders,  individuals and teams in schools, ECE and Kāhui Ako where she facilitates the development of sustainable professional learning communities and improve outcomes for learners.
