This in-person ECE PLD workshop explores how oral language and early literacy can be powerful tools for supporting social and emotional learning. Kaiako will consider ways to integrate Te Reo Māori and children’s home languages into daily practice, valuing linguistic diversity beyond functional use. The session highlights leveraging the local curriculum to foster early literacy, the importance of strong partnerships, and strategies for strengthening the home literacy environment through whānau education.
