About the event

This in-person ECE PLD workshop deepens understanding of how tamariki learn to read, focusing on concepts of print, vocabulary growth, phonological awareness, and letter-sound knowledge. Kaiako will explore Kōwhiti Whakapae: what it is, how to navigate it, and how to use it effectively. The session also covers planning, implementation, and assessing progress, offering practical strategies to integrate structured literacy approaches into everyday practice and build confidence in supporting tamariki literacy journeys.
