Enhancing Excursion Planning: Ensuring Risk Management and Participation (Focus: HS17 & HS18)
Excursions offer valuable learning experiences, but careful planning is essential to ensure safety and meaningful participation for all tamariki. This fully funded online workshop equips ECE kaiako and leaders with the skills to assess and manage risks effectively before and during excursions.
Learn how to implement strong safety measures while staying adaptable to real-time situations. Discover how post-excursion reflections can improve future planning, risk assessments, and safety strategies. You’ll also unpack key compliance requirements, including maintaining appropriate adult-to-child ratios and meeting first aid criteria.
Beyond safety, this workshop explores ways to increase participation by fostering confidence among whānau, educators, and tamariki. Gain practical strategies to make excursions a regular and enriching part of your programme.
