About the event
Inclusive Practices for Neurodiverse Tamariki in ECE
Every child deserves to feel understood, valued, and supported in their learning environment. This engaging and interactive workshop explores practical ways early childhood educators can create inclusive, responsive settings that support the strengths and needs of neurodiverse tamariki.
Together, we will deepen our understanding of neurodiversity and what it can look like in early childhood contexts. Participants will reflect on how teaching practices, curriculum design, and learning environments can be adapted to better support participation, engagement, and wellbeing for all children.
Through discussion, examples, and shared reflection, educators will explore strategies for creating flexible environments, strengthening inclusive teaching approaches, and building meaningful partnerships with whānau and external agencies. You’ll leave with practical ideas you can apply immediately to help neurodiverse tamariki feel a strong sense of belonging and thrive in your ECE setting.
