About the event
In this interactive and practical workshop, participants will explore Kōwhiti Whakapae, with a focus on the Oral Language and Literacy learning area. We will unpack how to navigate and best use Kōwhiti Whakapae to support teachers in noticing, recognising and responding to their childrens needs.
Learning outcomes:
Understand the four sub-areas: Understanding & Using Language, Emergent Literacy, Forms & Functions of Literacy, and Learning an Additional Language.
Recognize the importance of oral language and literacy in early childhood development.
Implement strategies to support diverse language and literacy experiences.
