About the event

Building Confidence and Preparedness: Effective emergency drills in ECE

This fully funded online workshop equips ECE kaiako and leaders with the knowledge and skills to plan, execute, and refine emergency procedures with confidence. Learn how to carry out safe evacuations, communicate effectively under pressure, and implement inclusive emergency management plans that prioritise the safety of all tamariki.

A key focus will be on supporting children with disabilities or mobility challenges, ensuring accessibility needs are met during emergencies. You'll explore best practices for providing post-emergency support to tamariki, staff, and whānau, helping your centre recover smoothly from unexpected events.

Additionally, this workshop covers how to engage with whānau, emergency services, and leadership teams to continuously improve your centre’s emergency preparedness. Learn to evaluate your systems and procedures effectively, ensuring compliance with regulation HS8 and strengthening your overall response strategies.

Join us to build a safer, more resilient learning environment for all.
