Literacy Support for Indepedent Schools

A Bespoke, Sustainable Whole-School Literacy Improvement Model for Independent Schools

Independent Schools are increasingly asking the same question...

How do we move beyond short-term literacy
initiatives and create sustainable, whole-school literacy improvement that endures over time?

We say, it's not about MORE, it's about COHERENCE

We're looking for independent schools

What is a "flagship school?"

We are seeking independent schools to partner with us to co-design, trial, refine, and evaluate a long-term literacy improvement model specifically for the independent school sector.

The flagship aims to:

  • measure impact on learner outcomes

  • evaluate teacher capability growth

  • identify sustainable implementation conditions

  • develop sector-specific evidence

  • create scalable improvement models for ISNZ schools

Why become a flagship school?

Flagship schools will receive customised support from Coactive’s literacy specialist team while helping shape a sustainable literacy model for the independent school sector.

The partnership is designed to strengthen:

  • learner literacy progress, engagement and confidence

  • consistent, evidence-informed teaching practice

  • teacher assessment and instructional capability

  • leadership coherence and internal literacy expertise

  • sustainable systems that continue beyond external PLD

Schools will also receive reduced-cost partnership access, preferential pricing for selected literacy tools and early access to insights emerging across the flagship group.

What do we commit to?

Participating schools will work collaboratively with Coactive throughout the implementation and evaluation process. This includes discovery and strategic planning, staff professional learning, coaching, classroom implementation and leadership reflection. Investment is determined during consultation and is dependent on scope.

Schools will also contribute agreed baseline and end-point literacy data, teacher confidence measures, learner engagement indicators and implementation evidence. These insights will help evaluate impact, identify the conditions required for sustainable change and build sector-specific evidence for independent schools
