About the event
About the Workshop
Effective leadership in early childhood education requires a strong understanding of regulatory responsibilities alongside the ability to lead meaningful, sustainable improvement. This workshop supports service leaders to unpack key areas of governance, management, and compliance, including Regulation 47 (GMA General), human resource systems aligned with the Children’s Act 2014 (GMA7, GMA7A), emergency planning (HS7, HS8), and hazard management systems (HS12). Participants will explore how these requirements connect to everyday practice and how strong systems support both compliance and quality outcomes.
Through collaborative discussion and reflection, leaders will develop a shared understanding of expectations and begin identifying priority areas for improvement within their own services. The session also emphasises the importance of aligning systems, policies, and team practices to create sustainable, well-managed environments. Participants will be supported to move beyond compliance as a checklist, towards building confident leadership that ensures systems are embedded, understood, and consistently enacted.
