About the event
About the Workshop
Kōwhiti Whakapae provides a powerful framework for strengthening teaching practice through intentionality, reflection, and internal evaluation. This introductory workshop supports kaiako and leaders to develop a clear understanding of the philosophy that underpins Kōwhiti Whakapae and how it can be used to enhance outcomes for tamariki. Participants will explore how deliberate teaching practices and reflective thinking contribute to more responsive, meaningful learning experiences.
The session also focuses on building alignment between everyday practice and Te Whāriki, ensuring curriculum decisions are intentional and grounded in strong pedagogical understanding. Through discussion and guided reflection, participants will begin to identify priority areas for internal evaluation and consider how ongoing inquiry can strengthen curriculum delivery. This workshop sets the foundation for deeper engagement with Kōwhiti Whakapae and supports teams to take purposeful next steps in their practice.
