About the event
About the Workshop
Responding to serious incidents in early childhood settings requires clear understanding, calm leadership, and well-established processes. This workshop provides practical guidance for kaiako and leaders on how to effectively respond when serious incidents occur. Participants will unpack the reporting requirements within HS34 and gain clarity about when and how notifications must be made.
Using scenario-based learning, this session explores the steps involved in responding to incidents, communicating with families, and ensuring documentation accurately reflects what has occurred. Participants will also consider how strong internal processes and team communication support confident responses in challenging situations. The workshop will provide practical tools that help services manage incidents responsibly while maintaining transparency and compliance.
