About the event

This in-person ECE PLD workshop delves into Social and Emotional Learning, exploring how tamariki build the competencies to form relationships, regulate emotions, and adapt to new situations. Grounded in te ao Māori perspectives, the session unpacks four key areas: Connected Relationships & Caring for Others, Emotional Awareness & Regulation, Agency & Adaptability, and Social Inclusion & Action. Kaiako will learn to recognise and support social and emotional growth while creating inclusive, wellbeing-focused learning environments.


We will cover

  • Delving into the Social & Emotional area, this workshop examines how children develop competencies to form relationships, regulate emotions, and adapt to new situations.

  • The integration of te ao Māori concepts in fostering these skills.

  • Explore the four sub-areas: Connected Relationships & Caring for Others, Emotional Awareness & Regulation, Agency & Adaptability, and Social Inclusion & Action.
