Dr. Lisa Watson is a respected researcher and educator with over 25 years of experience in education. Based at the University of Auckland, her work focuses on Māori education, literacy development, tikanga, culturally responsive pedagogy, and kaupapa Māori research methodologies.
With a strong commitment to advancing equitable and culturally grounded education, Lisa supports educators to design and deliver local curricula that authentically integrate mātauranga Māori and indigenous pedagogies.
Lisa brings some fluency in te reo Māori and has collaborated extensively with kura, iwi, and community organisations. Lisa is passionate about enriching literacy learning through storytelling and digital innovation.
